Colin Hanks was an American actor who was born on November 24, 1977 in Sacramento, California. His parents are late actress Samantha Lewes and actor Tom Hanks. He is best known for his roles in the film “Orange County” and in the television programs “Roswell,” “Band of Brothers,” and “Dexter.”

Hanks went to Sacramento Country Day School in California and Chapman University. He graduated from the Loyola Marymount University. He got married to Samantha Bryant on May 8. 2012. He has 2 paternal half-brothers from the second marriage of Tom Hanks to actress Rita Wilson. He is an avid fan of various sports teams such as the Sacramento Kings basketball team, Los Angeles Kings ice hockey team, San Francisco 49ers football team, and San Francisco Giants baseball team.

Hanks played the role of Alex Whitman in “Roswell,” a science fiction television series where he starred during the first 2 seasons. Aside from this, he also appeared as Lt. Henry Jones in “Band of Brothers” and in “The OC.” Hanks have also worked with Aaron Paul and Shane West in “Whatever it Takes.” Moreover, he also appeared in the season 2 of the television show “Mad Men” as a Roman Catholic Priest. He got a role in Tom’s directing debut “That Thing You Do.” However, Hanks decided to use a stage name instead of his real name because he does not want to land a role due to his name.

Hanks got a taste working in the film industry for the first time in 1995 when he worked as a production assistant in the film “Apollo 13,” starring Tom Hanks.

Hanks was one of the casts of the film “Orange County” where he played the role of Shaun Brumder. The movie depicts Hanks’ journey to enter Stanford University after a wrong transcript has mistakenly sent out by his guidance counselor to the university. In the movie, he starred alongside Schuyler Fisk and Jack Black. Aside from this movie, Hanks also played as the assistant of the character played by Jack Black in the remake of the movie “King Kong” in 2005. He worked with actress Anne Faris in the romantic comedy film “The House of Bunny,” where he played as the love interest of Faris’ character.

In 2008, Hanks was given the chance to work with his father in the movie “The Great Buck Howard,” starring John Malcovich and produced by Tom Hanks. Unknown to many people, Hanks has made his debut in Broadway where he starred alongside Jane Fonda in the play “33 Variations,” by Moises Kaufman. In addition to working in the television and film industries, Colin Hanks also plays bass guitar for his band The Underloids, which is specializing in hip hop music.
