Hugh Dancy is a British actor, theater artist and model, who is best known for his role of Will Graham in the popular television show Hannibal. Born as Hugh Michael Horace Darcy in Staffordshire, he grew up in Newcastle and acted for the first time in his life when he was 18 in Twelfth Night, a production of Winchester College Players, which was staged at Winchester as well as at Minack Theater in Cornwall.
Hugh has featured in many films and television shows in Britain, as well as in Hollywood. His foray into Hollywood was more of a chance than a planned and concerted approach. In London, where he had moved to after graduation, Hugh got to meet Ros Hubbard (casting director), and Dallas Smith (casting agent). Hugh was signed by them, and in a short time, he bagged the role of Danny in the second series of Cold Feet.
Prior to being cast in Hannibal as Will Graham, Hugh Dancy featured on Broadway for Journey’s End as Captain Dennis Stanhope, he played the role of Aiden in “Blood and Chocolate,” a 2007 film, was the protagonist of an independent film titled after his character’s name, Adam, and he also played a pivotal role in Savage Grace.
Hugh Dancy has been a prominent theater actor before he had his shot to fame with popular television shows. His list of films also contains some cult classics and commercially successful movies where he mostly essayed the roles of supporting characters.

Hugh Dancy has appeared in many television shows including Trial & Retribution II, The New Adventures of Robin Hood, Dangerfield, Cold Feet, Kavanagh QC, David Copperfield, Madame Bovary, Relic Hunter, Daniel Deronda, Elizabeth I, The Big C and Hannibal.
Hugh Dancy has been nominated for Satellite Award for Best Actor in Motion Picture, Gotham Award for Best Ensemble Cast, Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries and Movie and Satellite Award for Best Actor in Miniseries or Television Film.
Hannibal is a NBC horror fiction and psychological thriller television series, which first aired on April 4, 2013.
