Jason Momoa was born as Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa on August 1st, 1979. Jason Momoa is an American actor as well as a model. He was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii by his parents, Coni who is a photographer and Joseph Momoa, an expert painter. His mother raised Jason Momoa in Norwalk, Iowa.
When Jason Momoa returned to Hawaii, he was discovered by Takeo Kikuchi, an international designer. In the year 1999, Jason Momoa won Hawaii’s Model of the Year, and he also hosted the Miss Teen Hawaii contest. From the year 2005 to 2009, Jason Momoa portrayed the role of Ronon Dex in the military science fiction series “Stargate: Atlantis.” In the year 2011, he portrayed the role of Khal Drogo in the Game of Thrones. He is also featured in the film Conan the Barbarian.
In addition to his appearances in those movies, Jason Momoa also portrayed the role of Jason Lone from the year 1999 to 2001, in the drama action series “Baywatch Hawaii.” After that, he appeared and got the lead role for the movie “Conan the Barbarian.” Jason Momoa cut off his dreadlocks after the last episode of his film “Stargate: Atlantis.” Jason Momoa also appeared as Roman in the film “The Game” in 2011. Jason Momoa is the nephew of the great surfers Rusty Keaulana and Brian Keaulana.
Jason Momoa met the love of his life in the year 2005, in the personality of Lisa Bonet. On July 23rd, 2007, Momoa’s spouse gave birth to their first daughter Lola Lolani Momoa. On December 15th, 2008, Bonet gave birth to their first baby boy named Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa.
An incident happened on November 15th, 2008 at the Bird’s Café in Hollywood, a California club, when Jason Momoa was slashed in the face with a piece of beer glass. Momoa received 140 stitches in his face during his reconstructive surgery. The suspect Dominic Bando was convicted and served five years in California State Prison, Corcoran.
Jason Momoa also appeared in the movie “Tempted” in 2003, “Johnson Family” in 2004, “North Shore” in 2004 to 2005, “The Game” in 2009 and “Bullet in the Head” in 2013. He also got the ShoWest Award for Male Rising Star of 2011. He is also nominated for Best Ensemble and Screen Actor Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
