Another Cast Member has been added to Duck Dynasty – He is Beardless!

A new face will be emerging on the A&E hit show, Duck Dynasty, and he is beardless!

The oldest of Kay and Phil’s four sons, Alan Robertson, is finally joining the reality show, Duck Dynasty, in their upcoming season four that is airing in August 2013. Alan Robertson is bringing a new look with him; he tends to wear suits instead of camouflage and is clean-shaven, unlike his other family members.

“The beards are so iconic,” Alan told the New York Post, “All this time I have been flying under the radar; I can go to Starbucks and get Mama coffee.”

“That is about to change,” Phil Robertson commented.

Alan Robertson, who is forty-seven years old, and a full-time minister at a Louisiana Church had changed his mind to become part of the Duck Dynasty show since he wants to share his faith with a larger audience.

“What I do for our church – you see, it is a pretty good-sized church – impacts a lot of people, but because of my association with the show, I will get to minister to a lot more people,” Alan commented. “A lot more” is an understatement; the show’s finale that happened on April 2013 was watched by 9.6 million viewers.

Alan Robertson is leaving his pulpit to work alongside his father, uncle, friends, and brothers at their thriving business, Duck Commander. He will be the “Beauty and Beards Wrangler” and manage publicity. Alan and Lisa (Alan’s wife), are already writing a book about their marriage. Alex and Anna, who are their daughters, will be part of the show; Alex is opening a food truck in front of the store and Anna works at Duck Commander.

It was not an easy decision for Alan to join the Duck Dynasty show, he has seen his family thrust into the spotlight and face invasions of privacy.

“My children are grown, but all of my brothers’ children are teenagers now, so how is this crazy world going to impact them?” Alan said. “We think about John Luke and Sadie, who are such a big part of the show, and they are teenagers, you know? They need to be just normal teenagers. We pray about that.”
