Mayim Bialik Divorced: Star of the Big Bang Theory

Michael Stone and Mayim Bialik have finalized their divorce after ten years of marriage. Mayim Bialik who is known for her role in the Big Bang Theory and her beau has ended their marriage during May 1st 2013, according to People Magazine.

“People need to realize that celebrities are people too,” Mayim said. “I think it is important for people to realize that it is very appreciated to get virtual support, but there is also a tremendous amount of privacy that is important for every human being.”

The news broke during last November when the thirty-seven years old actress announced it on her website, saying “After much consideration and soul-searching, Michael and I have arrived at the decision to divorce due to ‘Irreconcilable Differences. Divorce is terribly sad, painful and incomprehensible for children. It is not something we have decided lightly.”

“I’ve tried to strike a really careful balance between writing just because I can, and writing with the purpose of educating other people about an experience that I hope will be helpful to them,” Bialik said. “I’m doing a series of posts on the Jewish aspect of divorce that a lot of people may not know about.”

Mayim Bialik who is a mother of two also commented, “The main priority for us now is to make the transition to two loving homes as smooth and painless as possible. Our sons deserve parents committed to their growth and health and that is what we are focusing on. Our privacy has always been important and is even more so now, and we thank you in advance for respecting it as we negotiate this new terrain. We will be ok.”

Bialik who has a Ph.D. degree from University of California – Los Angeles (UCLA) in neuroscience, told CBSNews.com, earlier in 2012, about how she and Michael Stone met.

“My husband and I met in calculus class in Los Angeles. True story…….,” she said smiling. “He and I got married when we were both in graduate school. We had our first son in graduate school and honestly sort of fell in love with parenting and being with our child as much as possible. We both finished our degrees.”
